A Weekend Refresh at Fontainebleau Las Vegas
Sure, Las Vegas is famous for its bright lights, non-stop energy, and touch of debauchery, but my stay at the newly opened Fontainebleau Las Vegas offered an unexpected combo of elegance, relaxation, and pampering.
I wasn’t there for a bachelorette party, an Elvis-themed marriage, or a wild time; I was there for a quick getaway from Orange County, a reset, and – believe it or not – a sophisticated escape.
Here’s a glimpse into my weekend refresh at Las Vegas’ luxurious new gem on the Strip, Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
A VIP Vegas Arrival
My adventure kicked off the moment I landed at Harry Reid International Airport. As soon as I stepped out of the terminal, I was greeted by a man in a sharp suit holding an iPad with my name on it. Despite the scorching 118-degree heat, he whisked me away to Fontainebleau’s sleek Escalade, ensuring my luggage was handled with care. The drive was filled with fun facts about Vegas, and 20 minutes later, we arrived at the extremely grand entrance of the Fontainebleau.
Stepping into the lobby, I was immediately met with Fontainebleau’s signature deep blue tones, gold, and black accents that scream sophistication and all new state-of-the-art upgrades (the hotel just opened in December 2023). At the center of it all was a massive rose display that made the space feel like a legit palace. My VIP check-in experience felt truly A-list – I was ushered into a private suite, offered champagne and a fresh baked chocolate cookie (THANK YOU!), and then guided to my stunning room with a breathtaking view of the Strip and the mesmerizing LED Sphere that constantly changed colors and patterns, adding an extra layer of magic to the skyline.
Room with a (Sphere) View
My room was a perfect blend of comfort and style. The bed was plush, the tech cutting edge, and although I was barely in it but to sleep, it was a cozy, clean, and chic haven, providing an escape from the hustle and bustle of casino life. Every detail, from the ambient lighting to the sleek furnishings to the massive walk-in shower, exuded modern luxury.
Poolside with a Side of TikTok Stars
The Oasis Pool Deck is a definite Vegas hotspot. This third-floor area spans six-acres and features plush cabanas, yummy drinks, and of course, a few stunning pools full of absolutely beautiful humans. I spent my first afternoon here, soaking in the sun and sipping champagne. On the day I left, John Summit hosted his album release party at LIV Beach, the exclusive pool club, which drove partiers to the pool in droves, including John’s entourage of famous TikTokers. (Am I 40 and was I starstruck? By all means, YES.)
Eclectic Chinese at Chyna Club
You will never go hungry (or bored) at Fontainebleau with their 36 restaurants, bars, and lounges. For the first night I met my friend Angela Christine, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Las Vegas Parents Club, for dinner at Chyna Club. Having lived in Asia for 10 years, she can be a tough critic when it comes to Asian cuisine – but we were thoroughly impressed with their eclectic Chinese menu. The restaurant's décor was club-meets-library-chic and was as stylish as its menu. We indulged in Roasted Black Cod and Peking Duck, each dish bursting with flavor. The cocktails, such as the Lychee Martini and the Duck #8 (complete with branded ice), were expertly crafted, adding a flavorful kick to start the evening.
Craft Cocktails and Piano at Collins
Post-dinner, we headed through the casino to Collins, Fontainebleau’s intimate lobby bar for a nightcap… as one does in Sin City. (Fun fact: It was named one of the best bars in America by Esquire Magazine.) I enjoyed the Bumblebee and their famous Gold Digger (complete with actual gold flakes) and sunk into my seat’s velvety cushions to soak in the soothing music of the live piano.
Facial Heaven and Actual SNOW at Lapis Spa & Wellness
The next day was dedicated to relaxation at Lapis Spa & Wellness. This on-location sanctuary offers every amenity imaginable – from co-ed jacuzzis and cold plunges to a salt room and – get this! – a SNOW ROOM. I literally danced and pranced around squealing while snow dropped on my head. (Did I mention it’s 118 degrees outside?) After this little slice of Vegas Heaven, I went in for another slice of Vegas Heaven: the Lapis Signature Facial which left my skin positively glowing and refreshed. I could easily spend all of eternity here.
Fancy Steak at Don’s Prime
Next was dinner at Don’s Prime, located on Fontainebleau’s first floor. It was exquisite, and people were dressed to the nines. You walk in and the servers are at your beck and call – it was hands down some of the best service of my life. It’s known as one of the best steakhouses in Vegas, and I completely get it. The elegant ambiance, with its rich wood accents and dim lighting, set the stage for an exceptional meal. I ordered the Dry-Aged Bone-In Ribeye, cooked to perfection, and paired it with Potato Gratin and Creamed Spinach. The wine list is from their top tier global wine program, and their chocolate dessert special is something my tastebuds are still dreaming about.
Nightcap and Trumpets at Nowhere
Afterwards, we strolled over to the speakeasy-style lounge, Nowhere, for our now-routine Vegas nightcap. We were met with live music featuring trumpets and a charismatic singer who had the crowd hooked. It felt like being front row at an intimate Vegas show… complete with a pool table and friends. The drinks, like the Country Club Wifey and the Far East Cowboy, were a perfect complement – and the fact that our room was located just up the elevators made it even better.
Dollhouse Charm and Benedict at La Fontaine
The final morning started with a delightful breakfast at La Fontaine. The light pink and cream décor gave the restaurant a dollhouse-like charm, a refreshing contrast to the dark, moody vibes of the night before. I enjoyed the delicious Lobster Florentine and (not one, but two!) Raspberry Berets, the perfect start to my day and a sweet end to my Vegas adventure.
Leaving Las Vegas… Refreshed!?!
Check-out was as seamless as check-in, with a timely pick-up from Fontainebleau to Harry Reid. As I sat in the car, watching all the glitz of the Vegas Strip pass by, I realized this trip had redefined my idea of Las Vegas. It wasn't just about the bright lights and gambling; it was about the moments of luxury, the friendly service, the feeling of being pampered, and yes, a couple nightcaps.
The Fontainebleau Las Vegas isn’t just another hotel on the Strip, it’s an experience that meets the highest levels of comfort and sophistication. It’s a place that invites you to relax by the pool one moment and fine dine the heck out of Vegas the next. It’s where every meal is a feast, and every detail is designed to make you feel like royalty.
Until next time, Vegas – keep the lights on, the drinks cold, and the music playing. I'll be back for more Raspberry Cocktails.
