See You at the LAM Gala 2019
Once a year, the Laguna Art Museum (LAM) puts on their signature event that gets the whole town buzzing.
Saturday, September 21st from 5:30-11pm at the Festival of Arts promises to live up to all the expectations of years passed. Serving as the Masters of Ceremonies will be NBC4’s co-anchors Chuck Henry and Colleen Williams, and will feature everyone’s favorite weathercaster Fritz Coleman. The evening will be full of fine dining and wines, dancing, a live auction, and, because it’s Laguna, performance art.
Support from the annual event goes towards the museum’s art education and exhibition programs, ensuring LAM continues its mission to be the premier museum of California art and a center of culture for Laguna Beach.
Each year LAM showcases three major exhibitions from all periods of California Art. This fall will feature an immersive, nature based video installation by contemporary artist, Yorgo Alexopoulos, and next summer Laguna will serve as home to landscape painter, Granville Redmond and photographer Matthew Rolston (whose Pageant of the Masters photos will be displayed).
“As a museum founded by artists, it remains close to the hearts of artists all over California,” says LAM Director of Advancement, Bernadette Clemens. “It has become a legacy vessel for the rich history and origins of the Laguna Beach community.”
A fixture in Laguna since 1918 when the Laguna Beach Art Association (LBAA) was founded, LAM is launching into its 2nd century with momentum, planning to up their focus on membership initiatives, artistic and cultural programming, strategic direction, and sustainable success.
