Laguna Through a Local’s Eye: Cymone Howard
Cymone Howard is the trainer and CEO behind Laguna Beach’s C.HOW FITNESS. With a lengthy background in sports and motivation, his love for all things competitive started when he was introduced to baseball at just three years old. Growing up he played everything from basketball to soccer to football, the latter of which captured his heart.
He trained, studied, and lived football and made it a point to utilize all the education that came his way, whether that was reading Sports Illustrated, watching games on Sundays, or just getting out to throw the ball around.
As a freshman in high school Howard had his first official trainer which taught him the dedication and professionalism that came with being an instructor. It forced him to understand lesson planning, motivational speech organization, and how to be a leader. He utilized his newfound knowledge on the field and soared through high school as a defensive back before transitioning to Golden West College in Huntington Beach, where he took his game a step further.
Training has given him a purpose his whole life and has become an important part of what he does; it has opened doors for him to assist his peers as well as those with special needs, a cause that has become his passion.
While football and sports has led Howard to many incredible opportunities, making an impact in the lives of others will always be his biggest contribution.
We caught up with the trainer to ask him to share his favorite spots in Laguna Beach...
